Pastor Ken reflects the essence of a coach, cheerleader, shepherd, teacher, father, preacher, leader, husband and dad. Behind the love that exudes from him, one will always experience an obvious confidence in God’s willingness and ability to bring any life higher.

During the Vietnam War, in the turbulent 60s and 70s, Pastor Ken was being groomed for 21 st century ministry in the unlikely place of a rural south Texas town. With a spiritual heritage reaching back to the great move of God on Azusa Street in California, during the early 1900s, a destiny was stirring in his heart, though he was not relating to it. Growing up in church had only given him a religious background with a life void of peace, love or any sense of meaning. After 13 successful years of ranching, farming and working in the telecommunications industry simultaneously, the call to full-time ministry became undeniable.

Pastor Ken was led to attend Rhema Bible Training Center, a nondenominational Bible School, by Divine intervention. This is where the power of the Word of God was ignited in his life through the Gospel message. In 1978, his road of destiny into full-time ministry began at Missionary Evangelistic Training Institute, M.E.T.I.

It was here that a desire was birthed and nurtured in his heart to see people fulfill the purpose of God for their lives through the Lordship of Jesus Christ. Training missionaries and conducting foreign crusades beside great men of faith, launched a trust and dependence upon God he has never turned away from. Through many difficult times and seemingly hopeless situations, through disappointments and failures, the faithfulness of God has always been sure through Jesus Christ.

Later, while pastoring in rural America, coaching and counseling on the corporate level, traveling in evangelistic ministry, and being assigned to troubled churches with no pastors or hurting pastors, a heart was forged in Pastor Ken that ministers and holds to the undeniable faithfulness of God our Father, through Jesus Christ, by the power of the Holy Spirit. At the core of any experience with Pastor Ken, you will find a message that does not condemn, but instructs, builds hope and confidence, and encourages one to know that God is for you and not against you!

Pastor Ken has been the senior pastor at Heartland Church in Brownwood for 12 years, working alongside his beautiful wife and co-pastor, Pastor Dawn. He has a compassionate heart for the local community and a desire to reach a lost and dying world right here in our own backyard, by showing and sharing the love of Jesus Christ both through his messages of hope and a lifestyle that reflects the love shed abroad in his heart.
