Our Worship at Heartland Church is based on a biblical model, and we strive for authenticity in all that we do. Some elements of our Worship Service include:
Standing to Sing
Rev:9 …I looked and there before me was a great multitude that no one could count, from every nation, tribe, people and language, standing before the throne and in front of the Lamb”
Clapping Our Hands
Ps. 47:1 “Clap your hands, all you nations; shout to God with cries of joy.”
Lifting Our Hands
Ps. 63:4 ” I will praise You as long as I live, and in Your name I will lift up my hands.”
Ps.134:2 “Lift up your hands in the sanctuary and praise the Lord.”
1 Tim 2:8 “I want men everywhere to lift up holy hands in prayer, without anger or disputing.”
Singing with my Spirit and with my Mind
1 Cor 14:14-15 “For if I pray in a tongue my spirit prays, but my mind is unfruitful. So what shall I do? I will pray with my spirit, but I will also pray with my mind; I will sing with my spirit, but I will also sing with my mind.”
Using Musical Instruments as a Part of the Worship Service
Ps. 150:3-6 “Praise Him for his mighty works. Praise His unequaled greatness. Praise Him with the trumpet and with lute and harp. Praise Him with the drums and dancing. Praise Him with stringed instruments and horns. Praise Him with cymbals, yes, loud clanging symbals.”
1 Cor. 14:3 “But everyone who prophesies speaks to men for their strengthening, encouragement and comfort.” (Amos 3:8, 1 Cor. 12:10-11)
1 Cor 14:26 “How is it then, brethern, when ye come together, everyone of you hath a psalms, hath a doctrine, hath a tongue, hath a revelation, hath an interpretation? Let all things be done unto edifying.”
Praise and Worshp Ministry
Our vision is for worship to be alive and active.
Worship is not a preliminary, a program, or a ritual, but rather, love expressed to God. We envision worship to be a lifestyle in every believer.
Many people have stated that their first visit to Heartland Church was wonderfully enhanced by the music and worship service led by Jason Studdard and Fervent Heart.
Jason on Keyboard; Derek, lead guitar; Jason on rhythm and lead vocals with his wife, Jodie; also Justin on bass and Eche on drums.
“At Heartland Church, we have a very aggressive approach in our music program. I am very blessed with great singers and musicians who absolutely love what they do, but more than that, they live what they sing. I never look for just a great voice or great skill – those are a ‘dime a dozen’. However, it is rare to find someone that loves the Word, and seeks time with Him as much as they do ‘jammin’ time. Thank God for the ones at Heartland, and many others that I am sure are out there.”
